About Us

Many people go on the Inca Trail every year. The Inca Trail is a popular way to get to Machu Picchu, and by going on the trail, you will be getting to Machu Picchu the same way that the Incas did. We have a list of things to help you if you are thinking of going on the trail.

Machu Picchu Peru

Machu Picchu Peru

  1. It’s best to visit between May and September, since this is the dry season and there will be less rain. It is easier and more comfortable to hike without the rain (view Information about climate in Machu Picchu).
  2. Book your trip in advance, there are only a certain number of people who can enter the trail each day, and it can be full months in advance. You can contact us to make reservations.
  3. Spend some time getting used to the altitude before you go on the trail. If you start when you arrive, you can have problems with the altitude. While in Cusco you can rest a while to get used to it before going on. (Information for avoid the altitude sickness)
  4. Try the food.  The food of Peru is unique since it has influences from indigenous, Chinese, Japanese, Italian, French, German, and African food. It is a good opportunity to enjoy some new dishes you would not find at home (Things to Know about Food in Cusco).
  5. Keep warm. The trail goes over high altitudes and it can get very cold at night. Make sure to bring warm clothes.
  6. Remember your camera since you will almost certainly want to take pictures on the trail. There are many things to see along the trail including Inca ruins and beautiful scenery. There are plenty of things to take pictures of.
  7. You can use alternative trails if there are no entrances left or if you want to go on a shorter trail. There is one that takes 2 days, and one that is by bike.

We hope that these tips will be of help. If you have any questions, fell free to contact us. We can make reservations for the Inca Trail so that you can have your ticket secured in advance, and not have problems getting it later.  Enjoy the trail!
