A wonderful trek to the Rainbow
Vinicunca is a mountain located in Quispicanchis province in Cusco, Peru. Close to one of the highest snow peaks in Peru, Apu Ausangate. Over 5000 meters high, the surrounding landscape shows a bright blue sky and almost no people, plants or animals.
The rainbow colors make a fully enjoyable contrast with the other mountains and the afternoon sky. As the sun rises and the clouds are dragged by the wind the colors of the Vinicunca mountain change turning brighter or darker making the view even better.
The one day tour to the Rainbow Mountain
You can visit the Vinicunca Mountain in a one day hiking tour. The path is full of incredible Andean sceneries like mountains, lamas and alpacas, a deep blue sky, and a lonely way to the colorful Vinicunca mountain.

After being taken from your hotel in Cusco by car (3 hour trip) and a traditional breakfast you and your travel partners will start the journey to Rainbow Mountain. You can go on your own pace to enjoy every minute of the trek. In three hours approximately you will turn right the last hill to hold your breath and get dazzled by the 7 color mountain Vinicunca.
You will have time to chill out and take as many pictures as you want. The classic group picture if you are traveling with family or friends, or a very lovable one if doing this journey with the special someone.

What to bring to the Rainbow Mountain in Peru
We strongly recommend you to bring winter clothing as the weather is cold even at noon. Also you can rent a trekking pole to trek with ease or a horse (this is not included on the tour.)
A large bottle of water and snacks like peanuts, dried fruit or energy bars will provide you the energy for your body during the journey.
Previous physical preparation is also recommended as the tour has a 3 hour trek. Cardio workout like running is a good start.
