It’s the Classic Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. Access to this section of Inca Trail is strictly controlled and only authorized trekking companies like us, TOUR IN PERU, are allowed to sell this hike.

Get ready for weather in March

Overview. Weather in the Cusco region splits into two main yearly seasons. The dry, Autumn and Winter season goes from April to October, and wet, Spring and Summer season runs from November until March.

March 2024. Raining gets lighter, but always bring a rainproof jacket. Temperatures will begin to lower a bit, particularly at nights. However, is will be still hotter as the trek approaches Machu Picchu, which is located on a subtropical jungle border. Thus, always bring a mix of light and warm clothes.

Live the local culture with celebrations in March

March is the month in which we celebrate the Easter.

  • Saint Monday. Procession of the Señor de los Temblores (Lord of Tremors), declared Patron of Cusco. Blessing of the town.
  • Good Friday. Procession of the Saint Grave and the Virgen Dolorosa (Sorrow Virgin) by the Plaza de Armas (Main Square) and the city’s downtown.
  • Sara Raymi. Traditional popular fair celebrated in honor to the festivities of the Purified Virgin of Kaninkunka. Also, the pre-Hispanic ritual of the corn is conducted, with typical dances and delicious regional gastronomy.
