    DESCRIPTION OF PLACES TO VISIT

Places to visit in Lima showcase primarily the architectural richness of the colonial era. During our visit to this beautiful city, we’ll enjoy:

    • Huaca Pucllana: It’s an archaeological site belonging to the Lima culture, located in the Miraflores district. Under investigation and restoration since 1981, spearheaded by specialist Isabel Flores Espinoza, it’s now considered a prime tourist asset. Adobe material and some stone were used for its construction.
    • Its structure features a 25-meter pyramid and an ensemble of courtyards, plazas, and enclosures. It includes an exhibition hall, tour circuit, and other attractions. Its expanse has diminished over time; previously undervalued historically, some smaller pyramids were destroyed for housing, roads, and parks.
    • Convent of San Francisco: Situated in Lima’s historic center, its facade, typical of its time, boasts a graceful baroque style, finely detailed and stylized. Its walls are highlighted by a subtle masonry texture, with wooden railings adorning the upper part. Inside, you’ll find:
      • – Sacristy
      • – Porter´s Lodge and Antechamber
      • – Cloister
      • – Choir
      • – Dome
      • – Convent Archive, among others
    • A main highlight here is the Catacombs, which surprise most visitors as it served as an ancient cemetery during colonial times, operational until 1810. It’s estimated to have held around 25,000 individuals. Presently, various rooms exhibit numerous artistically displayed bones, including those from common graves.
    • Central Reserve Bank: An interactive space with art and other visitors, showcasing the grand wealth of diverse past cultures. It’s welcoming, like a small shelter center, providing a pause during your journey. The museum’s collection represents Peruvian art from ancient eras to the 21st century.
    • Popular Districts:  We’ll visit iconic places such as San Isidro district to explore the famous Olive Grove Park and then the Love Park on the Malecón, offering the best chance for unforgettable and unique photos. Later, we’ll head to Barranco district to enjoy the famous Bridge of Sighs and its fantastic view of the Pacific Ocean.
