Pre-Hispanic Lima: The wonderful tour begins visiting the Pucllana Pyramid, built in the 4th century A.D. This is a place which was deemed sacred by the Incas, it was a religious center. You will be illustrated about their culture and society, architecture and textiles. It’s a very important archaeological remain.

Colonial Lima: We will tour Lima’s historical downtown, to see many beautiful monuments and colonial buildings: Paseo de la República, San Martin Square, Plaza de Armas (Main Square), Government Palace (where the President lives and works), the Cathedral and the Archbishop’s Palace, the Mayor’s Palace. We will also visit the Banco Central de Reserva (Peru’s Federal Bank) Museum to see the Treasures of Peru collection, a top selection of items from many pre-Hispanic civilizations: gold, textiles and pottery. Next we go to the San Francisco Convent, which houses the main collection of religious art in the Americas. Finally, a visit to the catacombs which still are under the Peruvian Congress building, which were used by the Catholic Inquisition.

Contemporary Lima: We will tour traditional, upper-class neighborhoods in Lima like the San Isidro Olivar (a very elegant park), Miraflores and the trendy Larcomar mall next to the ocean shore.
