Cusco

Machupicchu

Archeological Complex of Chavin

The archaeological site of Chavin de Huantar, belonging to the period from 1000 to 300 BC, represents the synthesis of the development of Andean culture. Located at 3185 m and only three hours from the city of Huaraz, Chavin, the religious center was built entirely of stone, with underground passages and a series of pyramid structures. Inside the complex you can see figures in bas relief on the arches and columns, combining characters of cats, raptors and snakes elements are always present in the Chavin iconography. In the underground gallery lies a pike, a large monolith of 3.75 meters high, shaped like a giant spearhead. Chavin is one of the oldest sacred sites in America. Chan Chan Archaeological Zone

Chan Chan is known internationally as the clay city's largest pre-Hispanic world. In Yunga language, Jang Jang means "sun, sun." It was the religious capital of the manor Chimu (700 - 1400 AD) in the Moche River valley, in the department of La Libertad (northern Peru). It is about 20 km2, and it is estimated that about a hundred thousand people lived there. The city was the center of a large regional state that dominated half the coast of Peru from Tumbes and the border to Ecuador, to the south of Lima. Manu National Park

The park is located between the provinces of Manu (Madre de Dios) and Paucartambo (Cusco), and comprises the territories of the eastern slopes of the Andes in the Peruvian Amazon. The Lord of Sipan
