First day: Tour from Cusco to Aguas Calientes.

We will start this tour with the transfer from the airport or hotel in Cusco to the train Station in Ollantaytambo. There we will start our train journey heading towards the little town of Aguas Calientes (town at the foot of Machu Picchu). You will have lunch at a local or touristic restaurant in the town. This day you will have enough time, especially in the afternoon, to go shopping, to visit the museum, parks and some other beautiful areas. Later you can have a relaxing bath at the really famous hot springs of Aguas Calientes (Thermal baths). Finally, you will have a rewarding night at the hotel in Aguas Calientes with a delicious breakfast the next day; this before going up to Machu Picchu for your Grand Tour.

Second day: Tour of the Sanctuary of Machu Picchu and Huayna Picchu.

Early this morning, we will pick you up from your hotel in Aguas Calientes and take you on a 30-minute bus ride through a zigzagging path up to the Sanctuary of Machu Picchu. This day you will have a guided tour of One of the 7 Wonders of the Modern World, Machu Picchu. The guide will explain and take you back to the times of the Incas while visiting the Main Plaza, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Reloj Solar, the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows and the Royal Inca Cemeteries.

This guided tour lasts about 2.5 hours, then you will have some free time to go on exploring and walking around the Sanctuary of Machu Picchu on your own. This is a great possibility to get together with your family, friends, special group or even enemies; together you will have a great time!

The tour of Huayna Picchu is another great experience you can have in Machu Picchu; however, you should confirm the reservation all together in advance and only if there are still places left. Tickets to visit Machu Picchu and Huayna Picchu together are sold on a first-come and first-served basis. Once you get to Huayna Picchu, you will enjoy the marvelous scenery which surrounds One of the 7 Wonders of the Modern World, Machu Picchu and admire the great work the Incas did along their Inca Trail. The exploration of Huayna Picchu is not recommended to the elderly since they have to deal with heights and a single-lined path where visitors have to go through.

At lunchtime, you will have a special lunch in the town of Aguas Calientes (at the foot of Machu Picchu); you can also have a special lunch at the Sanctuary Lodge Hotel (lunch is not provided on the package). Later in the afternoon, we will take the train back to Ollantaytambo and then take you to your hotel in Cusco City where you will have a relaxing night and delicious breakfast the next day.

Third day: Farewell at the Airport of Cusco.

After breakfast in the hotel, we will take you back to the airport in Cusco where we will have some time to say our farewell at the airport for your flight back to Lima and your international flight.
