About Us

The 2019 Inca Trail reopens! This means the Classic 4-Day and the Short 2-Day packages are available again for booking! After February’s mandatory closure, hikers can do any of them in the current season, which goes from March 2019 until January 2020!

Inca Trail Versions Available for 2019 Season

As we said, every February, due to Peruvian tourism regulations, both the Short and the Classic versions of the Inca Trail are closed, so the crews can do all needed maintenance works. TOUR IN PERU also contributes with the cleaning of the Inca Trail, in February and other months of the year.

But, from March 1st on, all the Trails are available again! 2019 Inca Trail reopens! The Short 2-Day Inca Trail is a briefer, lighter version, since all the hiking takes place for around 6 hours on the first day, there are no camping nights and after the walking is over, this package becomes a regular one, visitors can enjoy the many attractions of Machu Picchu’s neighbor village (Aguas Calientes) and finally, the unforgettable guided tour of the wonderful Inca hilltop citadel.

Now the Classic 4-Day Inca Trail is the opposite, it is a long, exciting immersion, thrilling getting lost in the wonderful, energetic and challenging Andean-Amazonian heights. There are campsite nights under the starry sky, visits of several amazing archaeological sites built by the Incas, hiking across fantastic, mighty valleys, mountains, lagoons and more.

For both the Short and Classic Inca Trail, we surely recommend everybody to book early enough, because the daily number of permits for them is limited, and there is huge demand from all over the world. On the following links, you can check both the availability for the Short Inca Trail and also the availability for the Classic Inca Trail, which we keep updated in real time.

Our other Inca Trail options, the Salkantay Trek-5 Days and the Lares Trek-4 Days, remain open and available all year long, with daily departures available.

Complete Your Unforgettable 2019 Inca Trail Experience!

Next, we’re going to share some wonderful suggestions of tours you can book, to expand a perfect vacation in the Cusco region or maybe another destinations across Peru!

  • Sacred Valley of the Incas (1 day): it’s a totally relaxing bus ride, on highways in the middle of the mighty Andes range, visiting this region which also was a estate for Inca royalty, like Machu Picchu. Includes amazing destinations like Ollantaytambo, Pisac and Urubamba (where we’ll enjoy a fabulous buffet of  typical regional food).
  • Rainbow Mountain Trek (1 day): if you still feel like hiking, this adventure has already become famous and praised in Peru and abroad. It’s a walk from a camping site until 16,400 feet (5,000 meters) above sea level, to encounter this magical, relaxing and energetic spot, almost unique in the planet. The mountain gets its name from the multicolor look, because of the peculiar chemistry of the soil.
  • Lake Titicaca (2 days): southeast of the Cusco region, you can find this heavenly destination. This package includes navigation on a motorboat, enjoying the marvelous natural beauty and peaceful energy, visiting the populated islands on the lake, directly learning, experiencing their millenary traditions and culture, and finally, spending one night in the Amantani island, at a family home.
  • Tour Sanctuary of Pachacamac in Lima (1 day): this is a wonderful site in the exotic, vast desert near the capital of Peru. The Pachacamac religious complex was the most important of the coast back in the days of the Inca empire, when thousands of pilgrims went there to ask the famous oracle and take part in several sacred, mystical rituals.

So, starting March 1, the 2019 Inca Trail reopens! You now can do any of them, and why not take the chance to add another amazing tour in Cusco or somewhere in Peru!
