About Us

The Classic 4-Day Inca Trail to Machu Picchu is undoubtedly one of the best treks in the world. TOUR IN PERU surely wants all our hikers to have a 5-star adventure! So please check these essential items for having a great journey across the unique Cusco highlands.

  1. Headlamp or lantern: For the campsite nights which are at wilderness spots. There is no electric light on the Andean clears so you should bring one in case wanting to read something, go out of the tent, get your gear ready for the next day, eat a snack, look for stuff inside your pack, perhaps taking medication, you name it.
  2. Extra batteries: your electronic devices will run out of charge around day 2; bring the needed extra batteries thus you can always take pictures, film videos and so on. A new alternative is getting portable solar panels which hikers are beginning to use.
  3.  Rain poncho or waterproof light jacket: this is in case coming on rainy season (November until March). You must bring a thick one, because there are pourings, although brief and spaced up. Do not buy those thin ones sold around Cusco City or elsewhere. We have good, impermeable rain ponchos available for our hikers. Overall, if you’re trekking on rain period, shield your gear against wetness with effective waterproof coats, hiking boots etc.
  4. Sunscreen: This is mandatory because there are long hiking stretches under sunlight and warmth increases as the Classic 4-Day Inca Trail approaches Machu Picchu. Surely one of the most important essential items. Do not get exposed to a painful, limiting sunburn.
  5. Mosquito repellent: the Classic 4-Day Inca Trail covers subtropical regions, thus bringing one good product will surely make your adventure much more pleasant, avoiding swelling, itching, pain etc derived from biting.
  6. Antibacterial hand sanitizer: for there will be miles without running water. This is going to be certainly very useful before eating, for general, varied hand-cleaning and in the case of lacking of fluid water at some moment.
  7. Medicines: if you’re following a prescription during the Classic 4-Day Inca Trail, don’t interrupt it. A proper physical fitness and stamina are needed to enjoy the hiking and everything else.
  8. Bottled water, hydrating beverages: drinking bottled, no gas water is key for keeping the body on a proper performance level and also prevents altitude symptoms. The same applies to hydrating beverages. Finally, coca leaves tea is always also very powerful for boosting energy, stopping muscular pain, overcoming cold weather and fatigue.
  9. Toilet paper, towel paper: toilet paper is needed for several reasons, so you must necessarily bring a supply. Now towel paper is also very useful and better than toilet paper for some tasks like wiping the antibacterial hand gel, absorb spills, clean a surface and so on. You should bring them both.
  10. Plastic bags: Essential items for an effective, proper waste management: paper, food, packages, bottles, everything. Protects routes and campsites from becoming unpleasant, untidy. Additionally, if you’re coming on rain season, this is how you avoid getting your belongings wet and keep them safe.
  11. Documents: Last but never least of essential items. Bring the same one(s) you used for booking the tour. Along the Classic 4-Day Inca Trail, there will be obligatory registration procedures at the beginning of the trek and also before entering Machu Picchu.
