The Short 2-Day is a very nice option because you can do the hiking across the Andean-Amazonian paths on day 1, arrive later that day at Aguas Calientes (next to Machu Picchu), and then it turns into a classic tour (hotel, restaurants, bus trips, etc). Now the Classic 4-Day is designed for those who want to have the full wilderness experience with long hikes, camping nights, and more.

In June weather is colder, even in the jungle border, Amazonian section. This will make hiking easier. Remember there are also stretches where oxygen is low due to the altitude, mainly on the 4-day trek, so it’s an advantage not having to additionally endure higher temperatures
