About Us

Sail on a motorboat, visiting the islands and learning tons about their people’s millenary way of life! Quite valuable tour, plenty of natural wonders, relaxing all the time and full of Andean history! Check the Lake Titicaca FAQ for a perfect trip.

1. How can I deal with altitude sickness?

It happens because as we go to higher elevations, there will be less oxygen in the air and this has some effects as headache or shortness of breath. The best measure to prevent it is being at a place -in this case, Puno City or Cusco City- some days prior so the body can get accustomed to the lack of oxygen. Also, coca leaves tea is of great help and so is drinking much water. Over-the-counter pills are very effective too, although visitors will seldom need them (in this case, you must ask your doctor first). Our article tips for the Lake Titicaca 1-day tour addresses several important topics like this one, seasickness and more.

2. What clothing should I wear?

From April to October (dry season): no rain at all, but the climate is quite cold and windy. You should wear warm, resistant clothes. Also gloves, scarf or bandana.
From November to March (rainy season): warm clothes too because this is the coldest region in Peru but in addition a showerproof jacket or rain poncho, impermeable tennis shoes.
Anytime of the year, you should have a sun hat or cap, sunglasses and sunblock. Don’t forget your fully charged photographic camera for the 1-Day Lake Titicaca package!

3. What are the attractions of this tour?

  • First, the large, beautiful, relaxing Lake Titicaca, the most elevated of the world. You will have peaceful journeys on a motorboat in the middle of the wonderful, soothing silence amid these highlands.
  • Puno City is also a great getaway, a quiet town surrounded by amazing nature where you will find plenty of typical products.
  • We will visit the famous Uros Island on the lake, enjoy meeting their people, all their culture and how they learned to use reeds for everything, like houses and big boats. Reeds and its varied uses are among the most Lake Titicaca FAQ!
  • Then we will sail to the famous Taquile Island, to know the people who live there, their folklore and art. Also we’ll do a hike along a section of the island, enjoying marveling Andean landscapes. Find more information about this trip to the Lake Titicaca.

4. What are the differences with the 2-day package?

The 2-day package to the Lake Titicaca includes visiting one more island and the great Pachatata archaeological site. Also, you will have much more interaction with local people and their rich folklore, spending one night at the very Amantani Island, on the Lake Titicaca too.

5. Where could I buy typical garments, souvenirs, etc?

This is a very useful Lake Titicaca FAQ. Puno City has several good places selling Andean clothing, handicraft, all kinds of souvenirs. You can also buy amazing typical clothes and art on both islands, the Uros and the Taquile, made by their own people. The inhabitants of those islands belong to ancient powerful tribes like the aymaras, however, nowadays they live in a poor region of our country. Donations are surely welcome, preferably food, clothes and school items for their children.

6. How can I get there?

Of course, by doing one of our excellent tours to the region, as we have shown here. For a final suggestion, check the Route of the Sun 1-Day package, a quite adventurous bus ride from Cusco City to Puno (city on the Lake Titicaca shore), stopping at archaeological sites, nature highlights, Spanish colonial towns and more.
