“At TOUR IN PERU we put our environmental commitment into practice”
On Friday, November 15 at the AATC facilities, once again TOUR IN PERU organized an excellent training in “Management, segregation and final disposal of solid waste” which was addressed to partners, allied companies, porters, cooks, muleteers, drivers, entrepreneurs of community-based rural tourism – TRC, tour guides and office collaborators.
In the first part, we had the participation of TURISMO CUIDA and RECUSCO, headed by Engineer. Sebastian Larroumets, who shared his experience and knowledge about the RECUSCO project, the work that is being done in the region, he also urged us to be more aware of the alarming figures in relation to unnecessary consumerism, garbage generation, segregation, and solid waste generation; as well as issues related to the circular economy, the final disposal of solid waste, among other environmental issues.
In the second part, we had the participation of Lic. Isabel Quispe of SERNANP who was in charge of the topic “Awareness of the Problem in the Inka Road Network and adventure circuits.” Then we continued with the participation of the Biologist. Karin Junet Nuñez Villa of SERNANP who was in charge of the topic “Solid Waste Management in the Inca Trail Network and adventure circuits”.
Both specialists shared their knowledge, experiences, and recommendations. It is pleasant to know that according to the statistical data presented, there is a great improvement in the management of the Inca Trail which today is following a certification process as a sustainable destination.
Continuing with the training, we were asked to form 02 groups “Los Yuyos” and “Pachamama,” it was a total success! To internalize everything which was shared by the trainers, we made a summary and a theatrical representation with everything learned about waste management, good environmental practices, and others on this day.
Later we had the closing of the event by our CEO, Lic. Benjamin Salizar, who informed us of the advances of the company TOUR IN PERU, its projection, the new approach aimed at consolidating its environmental processes and commitments and of corporate social responsibility, among others.
