It was just released the edition number 8 of the Lonely Planet Peru guidebook in which it is highlighted the top five destinations that offer the best experiences for travelers. Following are the details of these 5 Peruvian destinations:
1. The Cordillera Blanca is a paradise of snowy peaks whose “spectacular peaks” are imposed over Huaraz, capital of the Ancash region, and its surrounding areas. Besides glacial lakes, the Puya de Raimondi plants and Huascaran National Park, the Cordillera Blanca is a paradise for mountain sports such as hiking, mountain climbing, horseback riding, etc. The best time to visit this place is between April and October.

It was rediscovered by the politician and American explorer – Hiram Bingham in 1911.
