Code of Conduct Against ESNNA

Actions for Responsible Tourism

The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism of Peru has established its commitment against the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents, through the Code of Conduct against SEC.

This important initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (MINCETUR) consists of raising awareness and training all those involved in the tourism sector in our country with the aim of preventing and eradicating the sexual exploitation of minors (under 18 years of age).

 

Code of Conduct against ESNNA and our Commitment

At TOUR IN PERU we are committed to promoting and developing a series of joint actions in order to prevent and eradicate the problem of Sexual Exploitation of Children and Adolescents in the development of our services and through all the members of our team (stakeholders or stakeholders) throughout our value chain.

Actions developed by TOUR IN PERU against ESNNA

Through adherence to the Code of Conduct to eradicate the Sexual Exploitation of Children and Adolescents (ESNNA) we commit to constantly put into practice a series of actions, among them:

  • For the specific case of travel agencies and tour operators, as is the case of TOUR IN PERU, adhere to this commitment by signing the Code of Conduct against SEC, before GERCETUR and we commit to comply with the principles and duties established in this document; as well as in compliance with the General Tourism Law and its regulations on the prevention of SEC.
    Promote the awareness and training of all the members of our team: administrative personnel, operational personnel, commercial personnel and other parties; in order to contribute to the eradication of SEC. In this sense, according to our values ​​and legal aspects, none of the members of the TOUR IN PERU team offers, nor does it accept requests related to the different modalities of sexual commerce associated with:
    • The use of children and adolescents in pornographic activities.
    • Sex tourism.
    • Trafficking of children and adolescents for the purpose of commercial sexual exploitation.
  • In the same way, promote the awareness and training of all our stakeholders or interest groups, among which are: guides, cooks, drivers, support (porters), muleteers, rural community tourism enterprises, hotels, hostels, restaurants (as well as as their respective collaborators) and other interest groups; in order to contribute to the eradication of SEC. In this sense, in accordance with our values ​​and legal aspects, none of the interest groups offers, nor does it accept requests related to the different modalities of commercial sex associated with:
    • The use of children and adolescents in pornographic activities.
    • Sex tourism.
    • Trafficking of children and adolescents for the purpose of commercial sexual exploitation.
  • Sign the TOUR IN PERU Code of Conduct for Suppliers, through which all stakeholders and various activities throughout the value chain in our operations commit to enforce the five commitments established in the document; as well as comply with denouncing SEC before the authorities as appropriate.
  • As an additional aspect to the commitment to our Corporate Social Responsibility Policy, in TOUR IN PERU we promote the well-being of children in our region and country, indirectly, through the generation of income for families in destinations where those of us who develop our tourist activity. As well as supporting children on special occasions, such as Christmas, Children’s Day, among others.

In short, through the practice of responsible tourism in tourism in general, TOUR IN PERU promotes the development and well-being of local populations and all of its stakeholders. In this sense, our commitment to the ESNNA program also leads us to develop actions to prevent and eradicate sexual exploitation against minors.
