About Us

Peru is a country with so many wonders to offer for tourists! There are the spectacular places in Cusco region and much more! This time we will share with you amazing activities in the city of Puno, which is located southeast of Cusco, 387 km (241 miles approximately) distance.

Puno is a jewel standing on the shore of the Titicaca lake, in a region called the High Plane, which also reaches the northeast of Bolivia (by the way, Puno is very close to the Tiahuanaco civilization archaeological remains in Bolivia. You can talk to our staff about adding this tour to your Puno visit and amazing activities!). It is located on the mighty High Plane, a section of the Andes range. The High Plane has an average elevation over sea level of 3,800 meters (12,470 feet approximately). It is a true wonder of nature, with a massive mountain landscape mixed with valleys, under a vast blue sky!

Puno city, the Titicaca lake and the entire High Plane region is a place where you can find absolute quietude, feel the relaxing, reinvigorating energy flow of nature, indeed you’ll be in complete connection with the environment, at an altitude which is literally between the clouds and touching the skies! Silence and quietude to enjoy to the fullest, to get rid of all urban, regular life stress.

Next we will go through all the amazing activities you can do in Puno city!

  • There are very nice hotels, some of them with a wonderful view to the Titicaca lake. Anyway, hotels in Puno city are places where you can disconnect from the world and just feel the quietude and energy of nature.
  • The town itself is not very large and a great place to walk, look around, always enclosed in the peaceful environment of the High Plane, as we said, almost 12,500 feet high.
  • A must place to include in amazing activities is the Plaza de Armas (Main Square). It is just like the one in Cusco City: the Spanish urban design had such squares, where the political and religious authorities would live.
  • At the Main Square you can take a walk, sit on the benches to enjoy the view, particularly the High Plane mountains and the impressive Cathedral, which is an example of Spanish Renaissance architecture.
  • Also, Puno city’s main lane is called Lima street. There, you can also take a walk and find many restaurants which offer the best of Peruvian food and drinks.
  • The Coca Museum is also a must in amazing activities! Coca leaves are a millenary Andean tradition; it has been used for thousands of years, to give the peasants and farmers more stamina, strength, numb hunger and physical pain in the challenging environment of Andean heights. Also, coca leaves are used in Andean religion, as a means of connection with Pachamama (Mother Earth) and the subtle energies of nature.
  • The Casa del Corregidor (Corregidor was a political authority during the Spanish colonization) is a fantastic place close to the Main Square. Again, this is a wonder of Spanish 17th century architecture. There you will also find a handicraft store and local art exhibitions.
  • And, of course, there is the splendid Titicaca lake! It is the highest in the planet, with an area of 8,372 square Km (5,202 miles approximately). There we can find the Uros people, who have built artificial islands with reefs from the lake.
  • The Uros people have a millenary culture, with typical music, clothes, folklore, gastronomy, fishing, sailing and more.
  • TOUR IN PERU offers two unforgettable packages to the Titicaca lake: the Uros Island + Taquile Island + Titicaca navigation and the Titicaca with Homestay (2 days)
  • Also we have the great Cusco-Puno package, which includes amazing activities both in Cusco and then in Puno, with other ones in between!
  • Finally, since you’ll be so close, include among amazing activities the mind-blowing Tiahuanaco archaeological site! Talk to our staff about this possibility!

Peru is indeed much more than Cusco and Machu Picchu! As we have seen, there are amazing activities to do and places to enjoy in the southeast area of Puno and the Titicaca lake!
