The Classic 4-Day Inca Trail

camping

The Classic Inca Trail to Machu Picchu is the most popular Inca trail trek.

The most demanded hike in Peru! This package combines priceless hiking across the wonderful Andean heights, witnessing the astounding beauty and natural energy of those regions, with guided visits of Inca archaeological sites, finally going down to the subtropical jungle for reaching Machu Picchu. This trail includes 3 nights of camping high above on the Andean clears.

Our staff will set up the camps every day, and hikers will arrive later to enjoy the dining tent and their own sleeping tent, feeling the wonderful Andean night, fresh, silent, relaxing and finally going to their tent for laying there in complete connection with nature.

The Salkantay Trek – 5 Days

camping

Go on the Salkantay trail, go beyond your limits and venture on this little wildness place full of outstanding snow-capped mountains.

This one has the reputation of being the most challenging in the Andes. It is a complex hiking endeavor, which reaches the highest paths of the Andean chain. You will be met by strong, cold winds, rocky, uneven terrain, slopes, low oxygen levels, etc, quite a magnet for those who enjoy defeating the forces of nature. This is a demanding hike, many people do it all year round in Cusco.

You will have 3 camping nights with the wind blowing on the tents, drinking hot beverages, lighting a fire, wearing really warm clothes, enjoying the absolute quietude of those elevations and finally going to your own tent, getting inside the sleeping bag and experiencing a really isolated getaway. After the elevation sections, the trail turns downwards and starts approaching the subtropical jungle, climate gets warm and then hot, until the triumphant arrival at the Machu Picchu site, one of the planet’s top 5 travel destinations.

Lares Trek – 4 Days

camping

Join us on this alternative trek to Machu Picchu: the Lares Trek!

This is also another much booked trail to Machu Picchu, includes two camping nights on the Andean wilderness. You’ll begin hiking upwards to the amazing Andean elevations, being able to admire the vast, open landscape of clouds, valleys, woods, canyons, rivers, villages, planes. Also hikers will find typical Andean, Peru camels like the llama, alpaca, vicuna in their natural habitats, walking around, staring at the horizon, chewing leaves and plants.

As usual, our staff will put the camp in place before your arrival. Once hikers get there, they will enjoy a nutritious dinner and then be free for spending an unforgettable camping night: enjoying the dark starry sky, the mighty natural energy of the mountains, the warmth of a fire or going inside your tent for reading, or making plans for the destinations on the next day, really cozy inside a sleeping bag. Third night is spent traveling on a train to Aguas Calientes, the village at the base of Machu Picchu.

The Ausangate Trek – 4 Days

camping

If you’re looking for a beautiful hike, the Ausangate trek is perfect for you.

The Ausangate snowy is one of the most traditional destinations in Cusco. In the Inca past, it was called an “Apu”, a mighty mountain filled with the subtle energy of nature, which they invoked for healing, prosperity, cleansing of negative energies and so on. The snowy itself is 6.384 meters high (20.945 ft), a rocky giant revered by Andean people.

This hike includes 3 camping nights on the very Andean heights, clears that are surrounded by massive snowies, in the middle of nowhere, sometimes on the snow or frost! We will camp next to beautiful lagoons like the Azul Cocha and pass along some more on our way. The hiking goes across geography which is amazingly beautiful and demanding at the same time.

As for all other treks, our recommendation is hikers must complete a 2 or 3 days period of acclimatization in Cusco City, getting used to oxygen scarcity in the air. These treks will reach elevations of 5.000 meters above sea level, so it is wise to be ready and not running out of breath when there is so much ground yet to cover and so much adventure to be lived… however, our expertise is top, so we bring oxygen tanks and horses for helping hikers who may have some difficulty.

These are some great destinations in Peru, whose treks include unforgettable camping nights on the quite adventurous Andean elevations. We guarantee you will be in complete connection with pure nature, with its relaxing, reviving energy flow, so strong in the Cusco highlands.
