About Us

The amazing Inca site Machu Picchu is one of the top and most visited destinations in the world. You must book in advance for 2019! Here we will talk about differences on hiking either (or both!) Machu Picchu and the Huayna Picchu, the two mountains of the complex.

Hiking the Machu Mountain in 2019

This is a less known trek, but also offers a real great adventure time. The views at the top are priceless, the path up and down has fewer trekkers. This hill does not appear on the classic postcard of the citadel because it is to its side, but close enough. The hike is categorized as easy, low-difficulty. It’s good for all kinds of tourist. Kids of 10 years and older can also do it.

Altitude of this mount measured from the citadel reaches 2.066 feet (630 meters), but its summit is located at a spectacular 10.009 feet (3.051 meters) over sea level, literally touching the clouds. The times of the hike are between 2 and 2:30 hours (up) and about 1 hour (down).

Hike of the Huayna Mountain in 2019

Also known as Young Mountain, this is the famous, higher one which appears on the citadel’s classic picture. It has become really demanded by hikers worldwide, in part for the massive sharing of pictures and videos on social media. The all-around sighting at the peak is quite astonishing and along the path there are very interesting Inca ruins.

This adventure comes in two different options: the short hike (45 minutes to 1 hour) and the long one (3 to 5 hours). The former is categorized as intermediate difficulty and the latter as intermediate to high.

The peak of the Huayna Mountain is at 8.835 feet (2.693 meters) above sea level, whereas it is at 1.181 feet (360 meters) calculated from the citadel’s height. Although lower than the other mount, this trek is more demanding due to the rocky, more steeped terrain. However, it’s ok for all people in average physical condition and for kids 12-older.

You have really two fantastic options, with appealing differences, for a hiking adventure on your trip to Cusco! Conquer these mounts and enjoy enchanting landscapes.

The Machu Picchu and the Young Mountain will rise you to the top of the Andes! Just remember to book early for 2019 due to very high demand!
