About Us

February does have the heaviest rains of the season in the region. So in order to guard the integrity of visitors as well as guides and companions, it is that the Inca Trail closes during this month every year. During rainy season some infrastructures get affected and need recovery.

Also according to the big amount of trekkers every day and through the year, a month of closure allows the ecosystem in the region to recover. Therefore this measure is applied every year to perform regular maintenance, and just this week (on March 1st) the Inca Trail was reopened for its new season.
