About Us

Cusco has plenty of wonderful things! A welcoming people who keep the ancient culture alive, amazing nature, archaeology and more. The Inca Trail closes February 2019, here we inform about it and share options, you can still have a perfect vacation!

Information About This Temporary Closing

  • First of all, this applies to the Short 2-Day and the Classic 4-Day Inca Trail. You can still do other versions, like the Lares Trek 4 Days or the defying Salkantay Trek 5 Days, which remain open in February and have daily departures available.
  • The reason is Peruvian regulations say every February, the routes of the Short and Classic Inca Trails must be closed, in order to conduct a variety of works, like cleaning of the paths and some natural spots, fixing the mud all along some hillsides, etc, so our trekkers will find everything clean and safe when it reopens.
  • The reopening of the Classic and Short Inca Trails begins in March 2019 and the season goes until January 2020, so you can book anytime, but always with some 3 or 4 months in advance, since both hikes are massively wanted from trekkers all around the planet. We keep an official permits calendar for Inca Trails, which is updated in real time. You can check the Classic 4-Day availability and also the spaces available for the Short 2-Day trek.

Inca Trail Closes February 2019 – But There Are Amazing Options!

Besides the alternative of doing the Salkantay Trek or the Lares Hike to get to Machu Picchu, we have wonderful other ways to reach the fantastic citadel of Inca nobility in February 2019.

TOUR IN PERU offers a great variety of packages to Machu Picchu when the Inca Trail closes (which, by the way, include enjoying the famous Aguas Calientes village, with plenty of additional attractions). Visitors get there after an unforgettable train journey across the fascinating rivers, woods and mountains of Cusco Andean-Amazonian highlands. Finally, of course, we take our customers to an unforgettable tour of the ancient luxury retreat of Inca royalty. For more details, check the amazing Machu Picchu and Huayna Picchu – 2 Days.

We are almost sure you’ll not have enough of Cusco after amazing Machu Picchu! So we can recommend additional packages if you’re coming here in February 2019. For example, the premium trip to the Sacred Valley of the Incas -1 Day.

Finally, southeast of Cusco and not too far, you can find the spectacular Lake Titicaca region. Our tours include exciting navigation and visiting the inhabited islands, where you’ll be welcomed by people of millenary tribes and experience their living culture: painting, dances, music, textiles, pottery, gastronomy and more.
