Equipment
- A fully charged photographic camera
- Smartphone
- A light, suitable backpack (the tour has a 10-hour duration)
- No need for walking pole
Health Items
- Suncream (obligatory for sunlight)
- Coca leaves tea (always recommended for energy and altitude symptoms)
- Altitude sickness pills ( just in case because they get everyone going if needed)
- Antibacterial hand gel (before eating, etc)
- Toilet paper (the private bus has bathrooms)
Food and Drinks
- Bottled water (no gas) is always excellent for hydrating and elevation symptoms
- This package includes a buffet lunch in Sicuani (south of Cusco City). We suggest you bring snacks of your preference for the morning and the afternoon
- Bringing beer or any alcoholic beverage, smoking are strongly advised against for this will increase or trigger altitude symptoms.
- Please bring some small plastic bags for disposals (environmental protection)
Clothing
- Hat (mandatory)
- Sunglasses (mandatory)

- Warm jacket (preferably windproof)
- Winter shirt
- Warm pant or jean
- Winter socks
- Running shoes (you will be more comfortable and also there is going to be rough terrain)
Note: this clothing for the Route of the Sun is recommended all year round, because these highlands tend to be cold and windy, even if Cusco City is warm. Only if coming between November and March, pack also a waterproof jacket or similar. Finally, don’t ever forget to carry your passport while traveling in Peru and an ISIC if you’re a holder.
