About Us

This walk to Machu Picchu will surely be a great break from urban life! Enjoy the quietude, natural energy and enchanting beauty of the Andean-Amazonian landscapes! Here we share the ideal Lares Trek packing list for a wonderful vacation trip!

The Lares Trek is quite varied. This exciting tour includes around 14 hours of hiking, camping on open nature, archaeological sites, thermal baths, typical flora and fauna and the majestic Andean range all around. Also, you will meet Cusco’s people, who still keep most of the ancient Inca traditions and worldview, ready to share it with our travelers. It is a top alternative to the Classic 4-Day Inca Trail. This trek is available on a daily basis, throughout the year. Check the itinerary of the Lares hike.

Clothing

  • Sun hat or cap (for daytime), woolen hood (for nights and cold elevations)
  • Sunglasses
  • Scarf
  • Gloves
  • T-shirts (pack polyester ones: they absorb sweat and are the fastest drying)
  • A warm jacket and also a light jacket (because you will be hiking on both cold altitudes and later the subtropical jungle). Also, if you’re coming on rain season (November until March), an impermeable jacket or rain poncho must be packed. Know more about the best time for doing the Lares Trek.
  • Nylon pants (they are the most resistant and dry, ideal if reversible to shorts)
  • Mountaineering socks
  • Hiking boots (you must give them some use before, so your feet will be adapted, no sores)
