About Us

In addition to the regular Inca Trail maintenance every February, in 2018 TOUR IN PERU supported other two preservation works, later in the year. We’re totally committed to ecological protection and giving our customers the best experience in Peru.

May 2018 Maintenance Journeys

These works took place in the mentioned month, during 3 days. As in the February cleaning journeys, the goal was to pick up scattered garbage, clean the paths from any kind of debris, take care of amazing archaeological sites like Phuyupatamarca and whatever other task needed, in order to leave the Inca Trail really neat for hikers.

TOUR IN PERU was in a partnership with the ASOORCIC (Official Association of Inca Trail Operators) and other agencies, under general coordination of the Peruvian Foreign Trade and Tourism Department. We sent our qualified field personnel, helped with all logistics, expenses and materials involved.

It was a complete success! Picking up from here and there, along some 16.5 miles, we all gathered some 400 kg of inorganic, non-biodegradable waste! This measure is quite important to greatly prevent environmental pollution over the route. Peru is now enforcing a disposable plastic ban in all touristic destinations.

Inca Trail Maintenance With the AATC

This time, TOUR IN PERU supported these activities teaming up with the AATC (Cusco’s Travel Agencies Association), the most important in our region, with more than 190 members.

We contributed with financial resources for all activities needed: transportation, tools and materials, food for the workers, camping gear and similars. Although certified Inca Trail operators like us apply all measures for environmental conservation and protection of natural heritage, nevertheless from time to time inorganic waste has to be collected, because of the high number of daily hikers (around 300), some of them still not ecology-conscious enough.

TOUR IN PERU is fully honoring its pledge, to support all measures oriented to protection of cultural heritage and prevention of environment pollution! The periodic Inca Trail maintenance is an essential part of our management and operations policy.
