About Us

The fantastic Choquequirao 4-day trek, 4 days and 3 nights northwest of Cusco City, has just been ranked 2nd among twenty-five top destinations in the world for 2019! Recognition comes from Argentina’s top newspaper La Nacion travel magazine.

Four-Day Adventure to Choquequirao Citadel!

This still new trek across the Andean range earns more praise, this time from the tourism supplement of leading Argentinian newspaper, La Nacion (Buenos Aires). This endorsement adds to those received in 2015 by National Geographic and 2016 by Lonely Planet!

The wonderful archaeological complex is located on the top of a hill, 9,950 feet (3,035 meters) above sea level. In typical Inca fashion, the design includes barns, administration offices, lodging and religious areas, many agricultural terraces and a quite accomplished irrigation and supply system, shared between cultivation and the cult of their water deity. Of course, it also features the wonderful imperial Inca masonry, as good as we can see in Machu Picchu. The constructions were built following the pattern of constellations seen from our hemisphere.

Views from the site are stunning, unforgettable, ready to make for perfect videos and pictures. Hikers are completely surrounded by the long, mighty Andean range, massive white clouds passing by. Almost needless to say this spot is awash in the powerful natural energy of Cusco highlands, and visitors can surely experience the absolute, relaxing, reinvigorating quietude of the ridge complex. The trek is quite amazing, covering a round trip of 39 miles (63 kilometers) in the open, it’s a challenging one, for the route goes up and down, zig zags too. Know more in our blog entry Choquequirao, Machu Picchu’s sacred sister and check our quite helpful post Choquequirao Trek FAQ.
